Yes, this post is a blatant attempt to get birthday wishes for my 42nd birthday. 42 isn't an especially big milestone under normal circumstances, but this is my first birthday with the band. It is also one of the few birthdays where I weigh less than the prior year. That is definitely cause for celebration!
Since I'm doing this post, I also want to give you a warning that I might cry in Chicago. I'm a fairly emotional person. Not like crazy up and down emotional, but the kind of emotional where I cry at pretty much anything that touches me - commercials, when I hear somebody is sick or has died (even if I don't know them), ice skating, when my daughters say "I love you" out of the blue...okay, you get the point. I was telling some friends about the trip I am taking to Chicago and how much it means to me that so many women would travel to meet other women they know only through their blogs and guess what? I started to cry. I think it's amazing what we are doing on so many levels. So many of us are stepping out of our comfort zone big time to make this trip, but we trust each other enough to do it. I am so excited to meet you ALL and if I tear up, just ignore me. They are good tears. XO

Happy birthday Bonnie. Have a great time in Chicago! V.
ReplyDeleteYou and Deborah(http://provokingpracticality.blogspot.com/2010/09/my-own-chicago-confession.html) can visit the cry-room together.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bonnie!! And don't feel bad, I know I'll be crying right along with you. I already have tissues on my packing list. When I was at the hairdresser today, a new lady that had never done my hair before, I started crying when I was telling her about the Chicago trip and how the support and friendship from all the blog sisters is so important to me. You can cry on my shoulder if I can cry on yours :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bonnie!!! if we can't cry with each other, who can we cry with? I can't wait to meet you! Only a few days now... *Maria*-blogger from "This one time at BAND Camp..."
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very happy birthday!

ReplyDeleteSecond, I cry at least once a day...usually at something on TV too (but I make it a rule to laugh at least 10x a day). It's a good thing to wear your heart on your sleeve. Wish we were meeting...have a blast GF! ;-)

ReplyDeleteHappiest of birthdays to you, Bonnie! And 42 is a HUGELY important birthday. Don't you know that 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything? (Ok so I'm a huge nerd and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of my favorite books and 42 is a VERY important number - in fact, it's my favorite number. But I digress...) I will probably cry too. :-)
