BYOC Friday and Thank You

Thank you to all who left such helpful comments yesterday on my post about my second fill.  Even though I do know in my mind (thanks to most of your posts in the past) that reaching restriction takes time, my heart was hoping to reach it sooner rather than later.

If you don't know about BYOC Friday, please refer to Drazil's blog, because you need to be following her if you aren't already.

1.  In the spirit of back to school time - what is your favorite school supply?

Ah, memories.   In elementary school, my favorite was my lunch box.  SHOCKER!  When I got a little older, my binder was very important.  Back in the day, they had many more types of binders than they do now.  Remember the "Trapper"?  Anyway, I considered my binder the building block of my organization so it was always very important to pick the right one.   Yes, I was a bit of a nerd.

2. Assume your house is on fire and the whole thing is going to burn to the ground and your loved ones are out and safe….and you have a few minutes to grab 5 things. Just five. What would they be?

This reminds me I REALLY need to get that fireproof safe my hubby and I keep talking about.  Anyway, I'm not sure if albums count as 1 thing if I have more than 1, but I'd really want my daughters' baby books and my wedding album, which equals 3 things.  Would also like to grab my wedding video - it makes me cry everytime I watch it.  (Which reminds me, I REALLY need to get it transferred from VHS to disc.)   My laptop, my pocketbook and my daughter's turtles (there is a part of me that would like to conveniently forget them, but I probably wouldn't).  This is probably more than 5 things, but I'm going to pretend I answered correctly.

3. In the spirit of my new found love on vacation – what is your favorite drink – alcoholic or not?

A lot of times my drink of choice depends on my mood.  However, when made correctly, the "Hurricane" is my favorite.   I also LOVE a good martini - dirty and cosmo at top of list (it's a mystery how some can be better than others when it is basically all alcohol, but they do differ).  And, of course, a margarita made with juice versus sour mix, Patron Silver with splash of grand marnier, on the rocks with salt always reminds me of Summer.   I suppose it says a lot about me that I cannot pick ONE alcoholic drink.  Yes, I will be drinking in Chicago.

4. When is your birthday (if you want to say, no year needed) and what is your Zodiac sign. Does your sign match your personality?

September 20th, 1968.  Virgo.  From what I've ready, I do have a lot of personality traits of a Virgo.  I pulled below in red from http://www.mysticalblaze.com/AstrologyVirgo.htm (has other sign descriptions, in case you want to check out.)  In some cases, I've found that the Virgo is described as a perfectionist.  I don't think this fits me, in the sense that I don't judge others for not being perfect, but I do want to do things to the best of MY ability.

"The Virgo personality is a complex mix of intelligence, common sense, attention to detail, and commitment. This is a down-to-earth sign with a strong sense of responsibility, especially with regard to family and close friends. Although they are described as orderly and neat in most personality profiles, the modern day Virgo may not always stand out from the crowd in the neatness department. However, even if the Virgo's house or office is not always in perfect order, you can be sure that they still know where to instantly find whatever they need, despite it being hidden in a pile somewhere. The real stand-out feature of the Virgo personality is their commitment to excellence in everything they do. This is a person who once committed to a given task, will complete it to the very best of his ability. If something goes wrong, and the task is incomplete or not perfectly done, it will be on Virgo's mind for some time to come."

5. A little spin on my repeat question. I usually ask which blog or comment stuck with you and why? You can answer that as usual or how about just giving a summary of your week or how you feel about blogland this past week or anything you noticed…does that make sense?

I like that Amy of Babbles of a Bandster came of with Thousand Word Thursday.  It will completely change Thursday posts from what we've known in the past.   I had a lot of fun reading about everybody's favorite features.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend.
