Lena of Getting my skinny on gave me The Cherry On Top award and I am just thrilled. Thank you so much Lena for thinking of me.
The rules are as follows:
1. Answer the question: If you had one chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?
In theory, I think it would be bad to mess with my past because of the "butterfly effect" (not sure if I'm using the term correctly). Small changes could make huge differences in my life today and I wouldn't want my life today to be different. If I could be guaranteed my present would turn out the same, I think I would've waited a little bit longer to have kids so my hubby and I had more alone time and more time to travel. My mom had some difficulty getting pregnant and I was afraid I'd be the same way, so I went off birth control thinking it would be months before I got pregnant. My hubby's sperm had other ideas and knocked me up within a month. Of course, my present wouldn't be the same because my kids would be younger, so things would be different and I might not be as happy as I am now. This is really messing with my mind.
After I finished typing all of the above, I thought of something else that I would change first. Before my mom passed away, she was in the hospital, but seemed to be improving. My hubby and I had planned to go to Vegas and since she was doing better, we decided to go. After a few days in Vegas my brother called to say my mom had taken a turn for the worst. By the time we got back, she was too far gone for her to know we were there and I feel sad that I lost those last couple of days with her. If I could change it, I would not go to Vegas. Of course, knowing her, she would have wanted me to go to Vegas. So if I stayed, she might have gotten upset. This is REALLY messing with my mind.
2. Pick 6 people and give them this award. You then have to inform the person that they have been selected for the award.
I usually don't nominate people because it is so hard to pick out of all my wonderful followers and all the great blogs I follow. However, this time I'm going to pick 6 people because I figure they will nominate and then they will nominate and eventually all the people I would want to nominate will get the award anyway.
Michelle of The Band In Me got banded a week after me and is so much further along in weight loss. I'm trying not to hate her so this nomination is part of my therapy. Just kidding, Girl. You know I love ya!
Linda of Linda's Bandwith is my local blogger buddy and my Chicago roommate. She has had so much success with the band and I'm hoping some of that will rub off on me.
Stephanie of Dreams of Skinny High Heels recently sent me some love through the sisterhood clothes exchange. Steph - the capris are a little too tight so I promise as soon as I can get into them I will post pictures. Thanks again.
Karin of Lap Band Gal sent me the cutest little black skirt. Not sure if I'm going to post a picture of me in it because I will probably show it off in Chicago. Thanks so much Karin for passing it on.
Kristen of I'm with the band kindly coordinated the weight loss challenges and always has encouraging words.
Banded Mommy of This Banded Mommy's Journey is pre-surgery and going through all of her testing. If you haven't already stopped by, I'm sure she'd appreciate the support.
There are so many more that I want to nominate, but they are superstars so I'm sure they are probably tired of all the awards by now.

I know you have already been sent this award, but retrospectively I nominated you as well because you are just so wonderful.

Thanks for the award and know that you have something in your closet that will be waiting for you when you are ready!!
ReplyDeleteWow...now it's messing with MY mind. I would've held off on the kids too. For some reason, that clock got a-ticking and I thought it would take up to a year..nope...1 month just like you.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie - same thing on the kids story. I had irregular periods as a teenager so I was sure it would take a while. Two weeks after our wedding I was pregnant. I could see people doing the math in their heads when they heard we were expecting!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the Ocean City pics!
