Okay, so there are no ghosts in my house (at least I don't think there are), but with the second blizzard snowing us in AGAIN, I'm beginning to feel a little bit like Jack. The only good thing about this second storm is that it gives us the opportunity get the pictures we forgot to take the first time around.
Unfortunately I had to push my sleep test back, but that's no big deal. I have my 2nd nutrition appointment on Thursday. I'm hoping I can make that because of course I want to keep everything rolling. Well, that AND I'm going out to a really nice dinner for Valentine's and want to be able to enjoy without worrying about a weigh in. Gotta be truthful to my blog buddies. : )
Having never lived outside of California my whole life, meaning I have never been housebound by weather. It is so hard to understand what others are going through even though I know you are going through a ton right now!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I have seen The Shining many times, and this helps me to understand what it can be like for those that don't like to be cooped up in a house all day(like me)!!
I don't think that it would bother me being isolated that much, so long as I had plenty of food/drink/books/painting supplies/crochet yarn, etc. But then, who knows? My DH and I are contemplating moving out of Ca, so I may find out soon!!
I'm sorry that you had to postpone your Sleep Study. It really isn't too bad, unless you are claustrophobic like I am! I was lucky, I had a really good technician that explained everything to me so I wasn't surprised.
And she even let me experience what it was like when the machine first came on so that I could learn how to breath with it, while I was still awake!! LOL So if you are claustrophobic, let them know in advance!!
My original Sleep Study was done using a C-Pap Machine, but the Pulmonary Doctor wasn't happy with the results and suspected something more, so I underwent another Study using a Bi Pap Machine, this is when we found that I also have the Central Sleep Apnea.
Luckily for me, I am using a really strange looking (think Elephant Trunk) cloth mask (as I am allergic to the standard masks) which fits over my nose only, so I don't feel too confined.
Anyhoo, now that I have written another book!! Find out what your Insurance requires and what they consider Co-Morbidity's.
Oh, and I left you another message on your last post as well!!

ReplyDeleteI don't mind a day snowed in, but since this is the 2nd storm in a week, it is getting a bit old. Plus we had a pretty significant one in December too! Have any extra rooms over there in California because that is sounding real good right about now. LOL.
I wish! Now in Summer, I always wish I lived in a much cooler environment like Oregon, Washington....anywhere where it is cooler! LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, I'm a new follower. I'm waiting to get banded too. The wait is so hard. I thought I would have surgery in January.
ReplyDeleteI live in Louisiana, so we don't get much winter weather, but in 1997, we had a fluke ice storm, we were stuck in the house for 7 days. Most people lost electricity, but not me, so it was a great 7 days, a house full of company cooking everything from other folks freezers, we ate like kings! Anyway, I wish you luck with the process. I can't wait to get on the band wagon either.

my blog is "Band me Baby!"
Hi Bonnie - good for you for trying to keep everything rolling. But be aware...I did the same thing, got it all done in the first two months of the six month program and while months 3-4 didn't matter so much - had Christmas and Thanksgiving (not in that order) to distract me. But last month and this month...I wish I would have had something to do. But my insurance changed at the first of the year and I wanted to get everything done while I had cheap co-pays instead of outrageous deductibles and high out-of-pocket max's. May not be a bad thing to have things slowed like this...just a smidge....maybe...
ReplyDeleteDo you have to do 3 months or 6 months?
I saw some discussion on the weightloss and falling below a BMI of 40 and having to do the pre-op diet for surgery in the previous blog. Just so you know, for this supervised program, the BMI is important. The pre-op diet won't happen until after you are approved - and once this "unweightloss" program is over, you can start to try to lose weight the day it ends. You can go below 40 after the program is over, but not while you are doing it. I hope that helps.
Hi Bonnie, the wait and the rigamarole you have to go through to get banded is agonizing. I remember saying I just want this DONE. NOW. Hang in there and you will soon be griping about restriction (or lack thereof) and analyzing cc's with the rest of us. In the meantime, definitely use your blog to vent. It's good for the soul!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Waiting for insurance stuff sucks but we'll muddle through. I couldn't stand being cooped up with the snow. That's why we didn't live in Ohio very long. If you start seeing creepy little twins...get out as fast you can.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that you have a nice blog! I look forward to following you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny. Back at you. Sorry you had a bit of a delay with your therapist not signing off right away, but glad you're staying positive.
ReplyDeleteThanks for everybody understanding my frustration. I am trying to look at this as time to prepare, but my impatient side wants to get banded NOW.
